Today me and Jurre were sent to sand and varnish the table at Cynthia's house whilst Adriaan replaced some bookshelves. Afterwards we went to the mall again. Because this is a rather short report of what we've done today, I will also share some observations on Motherwell. The people there say okay in a very specific manner, which makes it seem like they are completely uninterested. So when we just spend a couple hours fixing a door and their reply sounds like you told them a science fact in a foreign language it sounds a little unappreciative. Everyone speaks English but they do it very fast and refuse to slow down even after you've told them multiple times you don't understand. The poorer the area gets, the nice people seem to be. Maybe it's because they don't have a job to worry about or maybe they expect something from you, but especially in the shack neighbourhoods everyone is friendly and happy to see you. Tomorrow we're going on a mini-holiday in a resort for the weekend and on the way there, I'm going bungee jumping.
