Today, we drove to Kwantu wildlife park where we were going on a safari. We arrived in the lobby and payed 500 rand or about €40. Then we were seated and had to wait an hour. We were brought, in this order: warm wet towels to wash our hands, a little piece of paper with the wifi password, a margherita glass with hot chocolate, a plate with triangular spring rolls and small pizzas, and finally coffee and tea. When the hour was over we got in a large jeep and drove in the park. Our driver explained that the park is very big so we might not see anything. We quicly ran into some impalas and blessboks. We drove on in the car that seemingly had no suspension, because we were thrown around at every bump. Later we saw some zebras and giraffes. Finally, we found 5 lions enjoying a zebra carcass. The driver told us to remain seated and drove within 2 metres of them, but the lions seemed uninterested. We drove back to the lobby and we had lunch, still included in the 500 rand. It was a large buffet of Indian food, which was fitting since every guest but us seemed to be of Indian ethnicity. When we finished lunch, we drove to the kwantu elephant sanctuary. I drove an elephant for about a kilometre which, whilst a once in a lifetime experience, is very uncomfortable.
